Proctor School is great due to the hard work and commitment of its parents to the school. It will only continue to be great with your help. Please support your PTA.

Proctor PTA holds two major annual fundraising events, the Walkathon in Fall, and the Online Auction in Spring. The school uses funds raised to pay for library and computer lab support, educational aides, targeted reading and math help for students who need support and teacher supplies.

In addition to raising funds, we offer support to teachers through office and classroom work, to the community through outreach and to our students through enrichment in art and music (FAME) and values and problem solving skills (PEP). We also host several events through the year to bring families together as a school community including, Back-to-School Potluck, Fall Carnival, Holiday Ceramics Shop, Skate Night, and Book Fairs.

What: FAME is a 6 year program created by Kathryn Sherrod that teaches students about art and music. It consists of 6 lessons an year, each lesson teaches about one artist and one composer, and normally also contains an art project.
Your Commitment:As a FAME docent you teach 6 lessons an year in the class of your child, preferably together with another docent. The lessons are pre scripted, the script contains all the information needed and also shows how to present the information and how to do the art project. The teaching material (music, painting, visuals, art material) is provided.
When: Throughout the school year.

For more questions, please contact the FAME coordinator.

Parent Education Program (PEP)
What: The Parent Educator Program (PEP), is a project of the Center for Human Development, and trains community volunteers to present health promotion curriculum to elementary students in grades K-6.  The program is based on the TRIBES process and is designed to reduce risk factors for adolescent drug use and to promote resiliency in children.  Parent volunteers receive a 21-hour training in a process which enables them to co-facilitate an interactive curriculum in the classroom.  The lessons they will deliver are designed to promote responsible decision making, resistance skills, self-esteem, and positive peer interaction.  The newest updates to our curriculum will address cyber-safety and internet etiquette.
Your Commitment: 21 Hours of training, and one hour per week in the classroom for 6-14 weeks.
When: Throughout the school year.
